Herbal Support For Sensitive Dogs

I don’t sprinkle random powders on treats. I build each recipe around a slow-infused herbal formula, then fold that into my Crunch n’ Care™ base-a blend of quinoa, oat fibre, pumpkin seed meal, allergy-friendly pork gelatin, konjac, and a touch of coconut oil. Each batch is dried low and slow to protect the herbal compounds, then vacuum-sealed to keep them stable and fresh.

Meet The Herbs

These are the main herbs I reach for again and again. I use them in gentle, food-level amounts-enough to support, never enough to overwhelm. Every dog is different, so this isn’t medical advice, just a transparent look at why these plants show up in my recipes.

🌿 Ceylon Cinnamon

A gentle, warm spice that supports digestion and helps settle sensitive stomachs. I use true Ceylon cinnamon because it’s milder and cleaner than the common kind.
Found in: Pumpkin Spice.

🌿 Ginger

A classic stomach-helper for dogs and humans. Ginger supports digestion, can help with occasional nausea, and pairs well with pumpkin for sensitive guts.
Found in: Pumpkin Spice.

🌿 Turmeric

Turmeric is an earthy, bright root known for its antioxidant and joint-supportive qualities. I use it in combination with other herbs to gently support overall comfort.
Found in: Pumpkin Spice.

🌿 Milk Thistle Seed

Milk thistle is one of my go-to herbs for liver support. I use the ground seed in small amounts to gently back up the liver while dogs process everyday foods and environmental stressors.
Found in: A Future Formula.

🌿 Dandelion Root & Leaf

Dandelion might be the most underrated herb on the planet. The root supports digestion and liver function; the leaf helps with fluid balance and kidney support. I use both in different blends for full-body support.
Found in: Crunch n’ Care™ base, Pumpkin Spice, Kale Sardine Salad, Hawthorn Heart.

🌿 Schisandra Berry Powder

Schisandra is an adaptogenic berry that supports the liver, stress response, and overall vitality. It’s grounding, balancing, and pairs well with other herbs for dogs who need help coping with stress or environmental sensitivities.  Found in: A Future Formula

🌿 Lemon Balm

Lemon balm is a calming, stomach-soothing herb for dogs who carry their stress in their gut or skin. It’s one of the most reliable botanicals I use for nervous, sensitive dogs.
Found in: Banana Balm.

🌿 Chamomile

Chamomile is a classic for both skin and nerves—gentle enough for regular use, but still powerful. It supports calm, digestion, and irritated skin from the inside out.
Found in: Blueberry Chamomile.

🌿 Linden Flower & Seed

Linden is a gentle calming herb traditionally used to ease nervous tension and support the heart. I use it for dogs who get overwhelmed easily or need soft, steady herbal support without sedation. Found In: A Future Formula

🌿 Passionflower

Passionflower is a calming herb I use in small amounts for dogs who are restless, easily overstimulated, or a bit “on edge.” It doesn’t sedate—it just helps take the volume down a notch.
Found in: A Future Formula

🌿 Nettle

Nettle is a mineral-rich plant that supports skin, coat, and seasonal allergies. It’s one of my favourite herbs for itchy or reactive dogs who need extra mineral and antioxidant support.
Found in: Kale Sardine Caesar, Banana Balm

🌿 Goldenrod

Goldenrod is a bright, cleansing herb that supports kidney and urinary health. I like it for dogs who need a bit of extra support moving fluid and staying comfortable.
Found in: Kale Sardine Caesar, Banana Balm

🌿 Barley Grass

Barley grass is a deep green, nutrient-rich grass that offers gentle detox and digestive support. I use it in blends where I want a “green food” component without harsh fibres.
Found in: A Future Formula

🌿 Hawthorn Berries & Leaves

Hawthorn is a traditional heart-support herb. I created my Hawthorn Heart blend with Tobey in mind, using this berry to gently back up circulation and overall heart wellness.
Found in: Hawthorn Heart.

Safety, Amounts, and My Philosophy

I use herbs the way you’d use them in your own kitchen: regularly, but respectfully. These snacks are not meant to replace veterinary care, prescriptions, or a proper diagnosis—they’re meant to gently support the body alongside good food and good care.

All of my blends are formulated with whole-herb infusions and food-level amounts, not concentrated extracts. If your dog is on medication, pregnant, or has a complex health condition, please talk to your vet before introducing anything new, even gentle herbs.
