The Liver & Kidney Support Trio in Tobey’s Crunch n’ Care™: Dandelion, Goldenrod & Nettle

The Liver & Kidney Support Trio in Tobey’s Crunch n’ Care™: Dandelion, Goldenrod & Nettle

I’ve always believed that small, daily actions add up to big health changes for dogs—especially for sensitive pups like Tobey. That’s why I’ve taken my Crunch n’ Care base and given it a revolutionary upgrade:

A Liver & Kidney Support Trio of organic dandelion root, goldenrod, and nettle leaf—prepared in a way that actually makes them gentler, more absorbable, and more effective.

Why These Three Herbs?

  • Dandelion Root – Supports liver detox, bile flow, and gentle digestion.

  • Goldenrod – A natural kidney tonic and urinary tract supporter.

  • Nettle Leaf – Rich in minerals, supports joint comfort, reduces inflammation, and nourishes the blood.

Together, they give your dog’s filtering systems the daily love they deserve.

My Process: From Raw Herb to Gentle Extraction

A lot of dog treats sprinkle in dried herbs or powders and call it a day. But here’s the problem:

  • Raw dried herbs can be hard on the stomach.

  • Dogs often don’t absorb the full benefits.

  • Some dogs with allergies may react to raw, fibrous plant material.

So instead, I infuse the herbs into the collagen that binds my treats. Here’s what that means:

  1. Herbal Heating & Steeping – I gently heat the wet ingredients (like collagen and gelatine base) with the herbs. This draws out the healing essence—the plant’s active compounds—without burning them off.

  2. Integration into the Dough – That herbal-infused liquid becomes part of the dough, so the beneficial compounds are evenly distributed.

  3. Gentler on Digestion – By extracting the essence first, you remove the harsher raw fibers that can irritate a sensitive gut.

  4. Better Absorption – The collagen “carries” the herbal compounds, helping your dog’s body actually use them.

This method is closer to a gentle medicinal tea than tossing in raw powder—and it’s something most pet products don’t bother to do.

Why Not Just Use Tinctures?

Tinctures are concentrated herbal extracts made with alcohol or glycerin. While they can be effective for humans, they aren’t always safe for dogs:

  • Alcohol is toxic in even small amounts.

  • Glycerin can be hard on digestion and is often a hidden sugar.

  • Over-concentration can cause sudden reactions instead of gentle support.

My approach avoids those risks completely.

Daily Micro-Supplementation That Works

I believe this is a revolutionary step for holistic dog health—not because the herbs are new, but because the way I prepare them lets dogs truly benefit.

A hand holds a cluster of crunchie tiles over a crystal Bowl.
When your dog eats a Crunch n’ Care™ Crunchy Tile, they’re not just getting a treat—they’re getting:

  • Functional fiber for digestion

  • Gentle collagen for joint and skin health

  • Daily micro-doses of liver and kidney-supporting herbs

  • Prepared in a way that’s safe, gentle, and bioavailable

For me, it’s about making supplementation something dogs look forward to.

Because health shouldn’t be a fight—it should be a treat.
